Question Smoking rooms at non-smoking hotels

I tried to book a room online at the HGI in Charleston, SC. I don't smoke, and no smoking is in my preferences, so it didn't matter that this was a non smoking hotel. When trying to book online I got the weirdest message ever:

"Your room preference is unavailable. Please try changing to a smoking room"

I had to call over the others in the office to see it...it brought a smile to my face.

Now, that's weird, not to mention a classic example of a Catch 22.

Smoking rooms at non smoking hotels

So I am looking at online checkin at Hilton Palacio Del Rio and see

This hotel is 100% non-smoking. Smoking requests cannot be honored.

Yet I am given choices of

Or, you may choose from our comparable rooms below:

Room 1002
2 DOUBLE BEDS RIVER VIEW
SMOKING ROOM; LOW FLOOR; FLOOR 10;

Room 1003
1 KING BED RIVER VIEW
SMOKING ROOM; LOW FLOOR; FLOOR 10;

Room 1013
2 DOUBLE BEDS RIVER VIEW
SMOKING ROOM; LOW FLOOR; ACCESSIBLE RM; FLOOR 10;

Room 1103
2 DOUBLE BEDS RIVER VIEW
NO-SMOKING ROOM; LOW FLOOR; FLOOR 11;

Room 1202
2 DOUBLE BEDS RIVER VIEW
NO-SMOKING ROOM; HIGH FLOOR; FLOOR 12;

Room 1507
1 KING BED RIVER VIEW
NO-SMOKING ROOM; HIGH FLOOR; FLOOR 15;

Room 506
1 KING BED RIVER VIEW
NO-SMOKING ROOM; LOW FLOOR; FLOOR 5;

So does the hotel have smoking rooms or not????? btw, I want no smoking so will likely choose 1507, but it just seems strange to see the contradiction.
