Gatwick has the Priority Pass accessible "My Lounge" in South Terminal but it's opening hours are sporadic and I'm not going to pay 35 to access it. I'll be in transit between BA flights tomorrow at LGW and will go landside for my fix before heading airside again. More provision would be nice but seeing as the UK mantra towards smokers in public is to generally treat us as sub human scum (presumably to help us feel ostrecised enough to feel obliged to give up our filthy habbit and thus be allowed to rejoin mainstream society again), I can't see it happening anytime soon.
You can tell ex- chain smoker Richard Branson gave up !!! - is it quite a large area that would be feasible for smoking to be permitted ?

Aberdeen, Cardiff, East Midlands amongst others have smoking areas in the UK - Even Dublin has one and they kicked it all off all those years ago.

When T5 was designed was there every any thought of incorporating a smoking area ?

MODERATOR NOTE:

Let’s remember what this forum is and is not about as noted in the sticky thread

Welcome to the Smoking Lounge!

What this forum is:
This forum is a place to exchange information that will be helpful to smokers who travel. Any post that does so is welcome, even if made by a non-smoker who wants to know what places to avoid. The term “smoke/smokers” is used as a generic term to cover smoking, vaping and chewing unless a post/thread topic specifically covers only one.

What this forum is NOT:
This is a NOT a forum where smokers are to be insulted or lectured about the perils of smoking. Nor is it a place to commend smoking. Posts of either sort are not permitted and will be deleted. Discussion threads are welcome as long as they are focused on venues and are not pro/anti-smoking discussions or which criticize venues for smoking decisions. In other words, this is a flame-free forum. If you feel a need to discuss such matters, take it to OmniPR.

Thanks

Now that the thread is in the correct forum, off-topic posts (or responses to such) and general discussions of merits/drawbacks of smoking have been deleted per FT and forum rules, respectively.

For information or to post a question about LHR, please refer to UK / London / Airports / LHR [T4 & T2 Only (Airside Smoking Cages)] (Noting Moderator Goalie's note re the rules of this forum )
