UK / All major Airports /
Not sure if the thread title helps the 'search process', but I've just been shown this link of the rules pertaining at all major UK Airports. Given National legislation about No Smoking in Public areas indoors, I'm surprised how many exceptions are listed. I can only assume they are external areas, hopefully with a bit of weather protection.
The link provides more details, but the bare facts are as follows:

BHX and MAN T1 are both balcony type arrangements with wire mesh surrounds to satisfy the legislation that smoking areas must be at least 50% open. They can be rather cold, but at least you don't get rained on.

LBA (Leeds Bradford International, UK).
Wow! An airside smoking facility in UK? OK, it's HORRIBLE, but the facility is there if you put a 1 coin in the machinery ... which only just works! Likely to be of minimal interest to the community at large, but posted here (is this the right place, Mods?) for reference anyway.
Hidden away behind "The Beer House" by Gate 7, and decently signposted ...

Insert 1 coin. The turnstile didn't re-lock after my wife passed through, so we only paid once!

What you get ... yeuch!

Exit door ... which was also dysfunctional. Someone came in that way!!

Could more clarification and/or information be given w/r/t to this as based on posts in this thread (https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smok...e-smoking.html [now closed]), LHR is entirely non-smoking airside and if the above is true, we can have the closed LHR thread re-opened to reflect this "find"

Thanks

In the other hand, in the thread you posted there is no mention about LHR T4 smoking lounge closure.
According to this website, this place was apparently still open end of June 2019:

My last visit to the smoking area was mid November last year before a KQ flight - So situation may have changed in the meantime indeed. My bad!

Heathrow is a smoke-free airport, in line with British law on smoking in enclosed public spaces.
Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the terminal building.
However, please be aware that once you have passed through security control, you will not be able to smoke anywhere in the departure lounge.
If you are catching a connecting flight at Heathrow, please note that smoking is not permitted during the connection process. It's only possible to access the outdoor smoking areas by entering the UK (via passport control), and you would then have to pass through security control to return to the departure lounge.
Electronic cigarettes
Passengers are not permitted to use electronic cigarettes within our premises. Where you are intending to carry cigarettes in your hand luggage, please check with your airline to ensure they are allowed on board the aircraft.

As of 9/26 smoking cage in T4 is still there, clearly signposted (down the stairs after the security checkpoint). When departing from other terminal tell the dragon at the BP checkpoint you are here to take a puff. They seem to be quite used to that.

Please note, the smoking area behind the pub at BHX has been closed due to construction work.
The official line is that the smoking area will reopen in 2021, but the "No smoking past security" signs look pretty permanent to me. I will be very surprised if it ever reopens.
