USA / Hilton ... whole chain going non-smoking? [RUMOR]

Wow, I didn't know you could even book a smoking room at any major US hotel. I've never found it much of a burden to go outside for a cigarette … but I don't smoke more than 4 or 5 ciggies a day.

Had years using Homewood Suites in smoking rooms. It seems the Hawthorn Suites in PHX is still OK (only 3 suites, and apparently fully booked!!!). Will be there in a few weeks.

I'm at the Hampton in Banning in just over two weeks. I'll have a word with a few of the staff and see if I can glean any more clues about future plans, etc.

Not quite the whole chain yet.
Three Hilton properties in Ontario, Canada, still have a limited amount of smoking rooms still showing availability.
The Niagara Fallsview Hilton, directly across from the Niagara Falls Casino, has one floor in the South Tower (out of over 1,000 room) with smoking rooms on that entire floor. Rumor has it that when the casino's own hotel goes entirely non-smoking, the Hilton will do so too.
Also, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites, next to each other on the Oakville/Burlington border, both show smoking rooms on their websites. Both are about 25 miles from downtown Toronto, and slightly further to YYZ International airport.
