Welcome to the Smoking Lounge!
Please read below to learn what this forum is all about
---
What this forum is:
This forum is a place to exchange information that will be helpful to smokers who travel. Any post that does so is welcome, even if made by a non-smoker who wants to know what places to avoid. The term “smoke/smokers” is used as a generic term to cover smoking, vaping and chewing unless a post/thread topic specifically covers only one.
What this forum is NOT:
This is a NOT a forum where smokers are to be insulted or lectured about the perils of smoking. Nor is it a place to commend smoking. Posts of either sort are not permitted and will be deleted. Discussion threads are welcome as long as they are focused on venues and are not pro/anti-smoking discussions or which criticize venues for smoking decisions. In other words, this is a flame-free forum. If you feel a need to discuss such matters, take it to OmniPR.
Who is welcome to post in this forum?
Everyone (smokers, non-smokers, “chewers” and “vapers” alike)
Posting guidelines
When a new thread is started, the title should start with the city name and the type of facility being discussed. (i.e.: Chicago / Hotels, New York City / Airports, Milan / Car rentals, Tel Aviv / Restaurants.) A thread might also cover regulations for an entire state or country. If so, start it like this: Italy / Regulations.
(please note the space both before and after the names/locations as without the space, the search function will not recognize any of the search terms [i.e. Chicago/airports/ORD will not search properly but Chicago / airports / ORD will])
Do not post about hotels, airports, restaurants, casinos, etc, that have the default position of non-smoking. Do post about any exceptions to this. i. e.: Post about which hotels do not have smoking rooms yet allow smoking on balconies of rooms.
Posts about being “busted” for smoking in a non-smoking location and having to pay a “cleaning fee” at a specific hotel/car rental company should be posted in the respective forum for that entity. Likewise, in general, posts about entire chains or chain-wide policies should usually go in the respective hotel/rental car forum.
Posts about the smoking of marijuana are not permitted. While some states in the U.S. have approved medical marijuana smoking, the Government of the United States and many countries do not recognize this as being legal.
