Casa Ellul (Malta)

Has anyone stayed here? Last year I stayed at the Regency, which was fine, but Casa Ellul is (surprisingly) about the same price for my target dates and seems like a much nicer property. Also, staying in Valletta will probably be a better experience than being Paceville-adjacent (though, surprisingly, it was pretty quiet at night at the Regency, even during peak summer season)

So, does anyone have any experience there? Good or bad?

Just wondering if you did stay at the property afterall? Booked to stay in October for a week. I’m but a mere Discoverist, so not expecting any special treatment. But would be good know views on the property. Thanks.

I stayed at this property over summer for 4 nights.

The good - the room design was not cookie cutter, staff were great, helped carry my bags up the stairs as no elevator. Free breakfast for all guests and it was a substantial breakfast. A basket of pastries, eggs if desired, yoghurt and fruit, coffee and tea and seemed no limit. In the evening the breakfast area opens as a high end restaurant.

The bad - I was in room 3 and for some reason it was deemed appropriate to block off the street and have a blaring disco that ran from 8 pm through to 11 pm followed by noisy chatter for the next hour until midnight as they cleaned up their mess. It was so bad, it felt like I was sitting on top of the speaker. They have rooms at the back of the hotel, think they are #4 & 6 which would have been insulated from the noise.

Would I stay again. Probably but only if I was able to get a room not on the street and a midweek stay to avoid the possibility of noise disturbance. On the Sunday night it was beautifully quiet.
