Upgrades at SLH
The T & C for Hyatt/SLH say you are entitled to an upgrade if availability. In practice, are people getting these?
|
Yes, one category upgrade, if available. So it's different from Globalist upgrades at Hyatt, where you might get multilevel upgrades.

i am guessing that suite upgrade awards do not work at any SLH hotels booked through Hyatt?

I have also contacted the hotel directly in advance and paid cash for an upgrade on an award stay. The cash part however will not earn points. |
Past 3 stays yes. You may need to ask.

I've had a 3/3 success for the one category upgrade. Didn't need to ask for it on any occasion.

3/5 for me.
yes in „Le Cep“ Beaune, France; Grand Bellevue Gstaad, Switzerland; Palazzo Vecchietti, Firenze, Italy. All fantastic stays, not only because of the upgrade. No in Ambassador Zurich (good), and Plymouth South Beach Miami (most disappointing stay) I have posted reviews of all stays. |
Interesting that there does seem to be some considerable success with at least 1 category upgrades for Hyatt Elites at SLH.
That gives me hope that our future stay at SLH in Vienna (Hotel Altstadt) should yield an upgrade as well. Though this stay would be booked under SLH and I have Indulged status (their highest) which I hope would best my measly Hyatt Discoverist status, plus direct booking with SLH was a fair bit cheaper again (~60€ per night). YMMV. |

mind you will not get Hyatt credits if not booked via Hyatt, but presume you know that having highest SLH status.

Got upgraded (as well as all other Hyatt/SLH benefits) at Galleria Vik Milano as well as Grandhotel Victoria Menaggio.
