There is a Hyatt sub-forum for everything related to SLH, benefits, reviews, etc...

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/small-luxury-hotels-slh-772/

would be nice if the forum would get a boost Cheers 59Impala

Paid stays are 10%+ cheaper if booked as an SLH member on its website. It, also, includes continental breakfast. (note from @59impala. I paid a 30% premium for The Plymouth Southbeach.) (antonius66 I observed 10-30% premiums for 2 hotels in Portugal over SLH direct, closer to 50% over OTAs)
A limited number of reviews of SLH properties may be found in the Other Hotel Chains Forum.
World of Hyatt members can earn 5 Base Points for every $1 USD spent on qualifying room rates and can redeem points for free nights at participating SLH hotels. It doesn't stop there, members can also enjoy exclusive in-hotel benefits when staying at a participating SLH hotel.
Complimentary continental breakfast for two
Complimentary Wi-Fi
Early check-in 12:00pm (based on availability at check-in)
Late check-out 2:00pm (based on availability at check-in)
One category room upgrade (based on availability at check-in)

I agree and that works for me. I really enjoy the character and diversity of a number of the Design Hotels where I have stayed. I think that SLH will be a step up from Design Hotels, and that works for me. I stayed at Stjordhotel near Alesund Norway this summer. I would have loved to have earned Hyatt points for my stay. There are some very interesting hotels in Rome that I will certainly explore once this partnership occurs. And that's barely scratching the surface.

If it turns out to be just get credit and points for staying there and use points there, it would be of some but limited value to me. If basically I have to spend top tier prices to stay at a place to get more credit towards a status that gives me nothing at those hotels, I will be pretty "meh" about it. I certainly won't be interested in spending 400 dollars a night to stay at a hotel just to earn Hyatt credit but not get upgrades, breakfast, etc. I already have half the Hyatt chain for that kind of thing now, I certainly don't need another massive segment with an even higher average price point to do the same.

Always appreciate access to more hotels as a Globalist. We shall see how this pans out (whether it's an M-life-type arrangement or slightly different.)

Agree with you that a tie up of any kind with LHW would be very exciting, but the tie up with SLH is not bad either

Like the M-Life situation, I do wonder if the prices on both SLH and Hyatt will be the same.

If a large percentage of the properties are "participating" and the points redemption levels are reasonable vs cash rates, this will be wonderful.

This is really great news. SLH nicely complements the Hyatt portfolio. Especially the beach resorts such as Mauritius, Pacific, Thailand etc...

received the official communication from Hyatt today. Hoping that most hotels will participate and that booking through Hyatt.com won’t be more expensive (i.e. as with Mlife).

looking forward to this!

If you look at the SLH loyalty page, you get Continental Breakfast and 3PM checkout on your first stay - just for signing up for the program. Room upgrades begin the second stay.

It wouldn't be unreasonable for them to immediately offer these benefits to WOH reservations.

Frankly the benefits of their own loyalty program are pretty garbage, so I'm not optimistic about them mapping benefits equal to glob. I mean, continental breakfast and a 1 category upgrade? If I'm staying in a $500 property, I want a real breakfast and a legitimate upgrade, not some "upgrade to a view" room.

I mean, if I get a free night additionally with glob at slh properties with the status and they sweeten it to include real breakfast and a better upgrade for glob, it would be solid. Would definitely need to include resort fee waivers as well though (assuming slh hotels charge it as commonly as everyone else)

Garbage? I might be confused but is there a program out there that offers free continental breakfast and a possible room upgrade for new members? MR? HH? WoH? PC? I think not! Just because the rates might be high doesn't doesn't mean they need to give free breakfast and an upgrade. If you were a basic WoH member and you stayed in Paris would you expect a free continental breakfast and a possible room upgrade just because the rates are above $500?

Yeah I agree - I joined about a year ago and have stayed at their hotels twice and both times thought the program, even the most basic levels, were beneficial. Once received continental breakfast and the second time was given full breakfast and both times received a room upgrade.

Any chain that gives "perks" to every member means that it is a made up benefit and generally you can expect it to be relatively worthless. Ok, so I join you club and now I get all kinds of super valuable and secret benefits? Please. . It's like ihg Platinum and it's "upgrades". Almost always totally useless because the status is pathetically easy to get. That's why every person who joins gets continental breakfast, the exact same as their top tier members. That should tell you something. If top tier got real breakfast, that would be something. If the benefit is the same for 0 stays as it is for 50...it is generally going to be useless crap. Let's not be naive. I'm not saying continental breakfast isn't "useful", but it is hardly a big perk and it's obviously baked into their rates, along with the other free "benefits" for joining.

And incidentally, regarding my comment about rates...that was my fault. I should have been more clear. I was referring to benefits with regards to rate vis a vis top level glob status. Part of what I look forward to at a 500 property as a glob, is a superb high end breakfast, not a free for everyone continental.

I am just so glad Hyatt will have a good presence in Europe. It was painful for me to use my spg/Marriott points when ever I go there...

"Hyatt" is a brand in terms of Hyatt-specific properties. Other brands are Andaz and Hyatt Place and Park Hyatt and so forth.
