Skyteam Routing
Skyteam Routing site?
Is there a web site I can do the following? I would like to type my routing Cities and find out if the Cites are valid. ...for example back-traking etc.etc. regards Ed |
There is. Flyertalk.com. :D
I have heard rumors of a ST RTW tool but I've never actually seen it and it is pretty much impossible to find anything on their website these days, so I haven't even tried looking recently. But if you post it here (preferably in the RTW sticky at the top of the forum) folks will be happy to help you validate it. You can also use the Great Circle Mapper tool to check on some backtracking issues. |
The backtracking rules are VERY simple.
Paid: You can backtrack for connections within a continent. Award: No backtracking allowed whatsoever (AFAIK). Example: You're in MAD and want to go to BTS. You can fly via PRG and backtrack on a paid RTW, but on an award you'd have to fly MAD-CDG-VIE and then take the bus! OTOH, if you fly from MAD to SSA, there is no way to continue your RTW unless you do an "overland" sector. That's irrespective of whether it's paid or award, as the only Skyteam flight that goes there is intercontinental! If you have a routing in mind, post it here and let's have a look. |
