Sounds great except
I called Delta today to book an Upper class award seat on VS and they spent sometime checking to find out that only coach seats may be booked using Skymiles.
If anybody knows different please advise as I still have the Delta (only) res on hold

The airline is now rolling out its new Y, C, and F service and from what I have seen the C service is very impressive.

Such a move would end Virgin’s cherished status as an independent carrier, but many of the world’s leading airlines are members of one of the three global alliances.
Delta is a senior member of SkyTeam, and Mr Kreeger said it would probably be unthinkable for Virgin to join one of the other two alliances – Star or Oneworld.
SkyTeam could generate new sales for Virgin as the alliance provides a base on which to form code-share pacts with its 19 members.
But Mr Kreeger said Virgin will weigh up joining against how it already has code-shares with 10 airlines.

I don't think ever have enough range. Because the 77W doesn't have enough range. I think GA will have to order the 77L aircraft instead of 77W aircraft. The 77LR has more capabilities, more fuel-efficient, and increase the range as well.
