Skyteam to Fiji?

It seems KE is the only Skyteam carrier that flies to NAN, the main Fijan airport. I can't seem to find itineraries on DL or NW websites (thought they would cobble together any Skyteam itineraries available). Orbitz gives overpriced itineraries on DL or NW, then KE thru NRT, and THEN ICN.

Why can't one of these sites just put together a more direct ATL-ICN-NAN itineraray?? Am I missing something here?

Sounds like there is no DL or NW codeshare to NAN.

Try doing a multicity search on expedia/orbitz/etc ATL/ICN/NAN.

ICN-NAN on KE appears to operate 2x weekly. NW and DL have never promised seemless booking over all SkyTeam partners on their web engines. The SkyTeam.com itinerary planner has no difficulty putting together one-stop itineraries.

Beat me to it. I used www.SkyTeam.com and found USA-ICN-NAN.

Can you book directly from there, or somehow cut and paste itinerary info to a Skyteam airline's website?

You can't book on ST.com, it helps you see what ST options you have.

Well, I tried it. Got the itin from Skyteam.com, then nearly pulled all my hair out trying to get KE's website to find/give me this itin!! Finally went to Orbitz, and did the multi-city search specifying KE on ATL-NAN & return.

It did return some itineraries, but the ECONOMY pricing ranges from $3500 to $6000. I just simply can't believe it. Can a roundtrip to ANYWHERE on the globe in all-Economy class possibly be worth that much $$$??? It's stupefying!! Guess I'll just stick with the good ol' Caribbean....

BTW-This was departing 6/22 and returning 6/27 (can't be gone more than a week).

1. I think one of your issues is trying to fly on SkyTeam for the entire trip. ST is weak to the Pacific.
2. If you're leaving on Sunday the 22nd... you don't arrive until Tuesday the 24.

Two websites to check for fares as low as 1539 USD p/p
www.kayak.com
www.vayama.com

Why don't you give Delta a call and see if they can pull it up over the phone?

Why don't you just buy them as separate tix?? @:-)

I've seen some coach Econ go as high as between $11,000 - $ 17,000
when you really want to get to some of those most remote or odd off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Fiji is NOT a cheap travel destination as one might think.
Worst is the fact often you 'can't get there from here' scenarios you will keep running into.

NOT worth the trouble or the expense for only a week travel time total.
It's at least 2 days each way. So you get 3 days maybe just maybe 4 tops. :p AND if you might the odd flights -- in and out -- you're screwed for 2 or 3 extra days, let alone building in extra time for the unforseeable pacific storms etc etc etc

Even with the carib, you've got to be prepared for possiblity of storms although the real season for the tropicals is lusually last week July through first week or two of september....

Have you been to Aruba or the netherlands antilles? you'll enjoy yourself better (and its alot cheaper) ---

I looked into this itinerary last year, as a possible mileage run, as I was heading to Fiji anyway. I only looked at the individual prices for ATL-ICN round trip on Orbitz, and ICN-NAN round trip on Koreanair.com. That combination gave reasonable prices.

I think the way to do it is to work directly with DL or KE, or a travel agent.

In then end it was not going to work the days I wanted to travel. This, combined with the fact ATL-ICN-NAN adds two additional days to the travel time compared to ATL-LAX-NAN via NZ or FJ out of LAX, meant I went FJ.

Personally, the best way to get to NAN is via LAX on NZ. They fly 767-300ERs on that route, so you not only get the widest economy seat on the market, but by flying NZ you also get the best economy seat on the market (Recaro's CL 3510). Throw in NZ's inflight service and you have the best international economy flight experience outside of SQ's 777s.
