When will there be Skyteam Elite phone numbers???
 

I've become increasingly frustrated calling Delta and Continental lately to wait 45 minutes and talk to people that think I'm speaking Martian... These guys need to allow other elites access to their lines if they truly want the Skyteam (and all the others) product to be consistent. I was appalled recently at how indifferent CO folks were with a delayed flight despite being Skyteam Elite Plus. Put your money where your mouth is, I say....

I certainly would love to see it but I doubt it will ever happen. NW and CO have gone pretty far in integrating systems and benefits and their partnership pre-dates Skyteam but they've never shared elite lines.

I have actually raised this very issue in this SkyTeam forum before... as a ST elite plus, I am allowed to use the FC check-in lines at the airport, board early, even get preferred seat assignments. But when it comes to the phone reservations lines, there are no benefits... we becomes "standees on the bus".

It would be a tremendous marketing advantage for any of the ST carriers to establish and publicize elite telephone numbers for ST elites. As soon as one did it, the rest would follow, assuming they could not coordinate this in the first place.

Heck, DL cannot even get its act together with its own platinums when it comes to international res lines.

I just don't see this happening, though it would be a nice benefit to have. The overhead for additional agents (or the increased wait times) would cost too much or ruin it for the "local" elites.

Do either of the other alliances provide this? I think the answer is no.
