An update.
One of three bidders for AZ, TPG or something similar, run away... perhaps to concentrate its money on IB.
SU is rumored to be in a poor position and it could be now more interested in JAT, i.e. less expensive and more 'manageble'.

Is it possible that SU is acting as an agent for AF-KL in order to get the best possible deal, and around all those pesky restrictions like "no job losses" because thats the only way SU can make it work, and as soon as deal signed than SU resells to AF-KL ?

One of the requirements of the Italian goverment to sell its quota is not to re-sell in the first 3 or 5 years and so on...

AP is now in a better position due to its Italian/EU nature. So AF/KL should be better placed than a possible frontman as SU.
