EQMs on NW, KLM
I want (I think) my FF miles credited to my CO account. I can book a B fare on NW and receive 150% EQM. I am flying to ALA this summer. So here is the question: One leg is operated by KLM. On KLM a B fare receives a 100% EQM, not 150%. NW shows several alternatives all involving the same flights. One is KLM coded, one is NW coded. The tickets are the same price. If I buy the NW coded flights will I receive 150% EQM for the KLM operated flight? (Or, in the alternative if I were to buy the KLM coded flights would I receive only 100% EQM for the NW operated flight?)

You'll probably get more answers in the CO forum than here. Perhaps the mods can move the thread?
But in general EQM earnings for codeshares are based on the underlying fare class on the operating carrier. So regardless of whether the flight is coded with a NW or KL flight number, if it posts to CO as a KL B fare, you'll only get 100% EQMs. You could always buy it as a NW B fare, however, and then write to CO if it only posts as 100% and try to get 150%. But odds aren't good. |
On all KL operated flights you get 100%, on all NW operated flights you get 150% as stated on http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...26C2D9F05379AE
Remeber B on NW is likely not B on KLM. Full fare coach in NW is Y B, KLM Y S X |
KL S = NW Y and KL B = NW B. I never understood why CO doesn't give 150% EQM for KL B. AFAIK KL X doesn't have an equivalent NW fare basis; it seems to sit somewhere between full-fare economy and business!
