Skyteam awards and student tickets
Hi all, I have two questions (though one's just more a clarification as I'm pretty sure I've already found the answer)
1) Can miles from any skyteam airline be used for an award ticket on any other skyteam airline? E.g., can I use 25,000 Continental miles to get a r/t domestic flight on delta, and not just code-shared flights? (or Northwest, Air France, etc.). And can upgrades only be obtained with miles with the airline you've actually accrued miles with? 2) I will be flying ATL-DTW-CDG this coming November on a student fare (purchased through studentuniverse.com)... Will I be able to earn miles (on CO) for this trip? Thank you! |

For question 1, Yes and Yes. You can book a reward on any partner once you have the miles, assuming availability. And upgrade are generally limited to the carrier you are elite on. CO/NW have reciprocity and so do NW/KL, but that's about it.

Welcome to FT, vijayshah. SU gives its own Golds 20 kgs of extra luggage. They generally tend to extend the same benefits to other ST elites but ask them first.

Thanks for this link. Another question: I'll be flying Northwest/KLM (which allows only 250 miles per segment according to that site), but accruing CO miles which appear to have no limitations. Which airline's "rule" will I be subject to?
Thanks! |
