AZ Edging Closer to Merger with AF/KLM?
 

The Italian gov't wants to sell most (or all) of their share in AZ by years end per this Forbes story. It says that three different Italian business consortia are considering bidding.

One of those groups is linked to AirOne (which links with LH)
Another links to Air Dolomiti, and the third links with Piaggio, which builds Vespas. (that leads to some imaginative imagery!)

I quite like the idea of AF-KLM buying AZ, as I have been very comfortable on board the few AZ flights that I have taken, however I have been apalled at the chaos on the ground : LHR & MXP !
