From what I hear, DL is considering going back to DXB... and this time nonstop from JFK, instead of via CAI. At 6848, JFK-DXB would be only ONE MILE SHORTER than ATL-NRT! (which is 6849 according to the GCM), but that probably differs from DL's actual routing anyway.

Whoopee!!! Another route the M11s can struggle on!

Air France exercised their veto this week to oppose Air India's participation in any talks to join Skyteam in the future.

This veto comes in retaliation for Air India's inauguration of nonstop service between Paris and Newark, a route hitherto dominated by AF and CO. Air France has also exercised their option to terminate their ground handling contract with Air India at CDG effective January 1.

Air India's new 3x weekly BOM-CDG-EWR service is already a huge commercial success with the flight oversold every day until January 15 in both directions. AI intends to take the route daily from June 2003.
