Indian newspapers carried stories today, quoting the CEO of Air India as saying that Air France has initiated discussions with them about joining Sky Team and that Air India is interested. Makes a lot of sense for Air India because they can't get approval from the government to buy/lease all the planes they need. Codesharing on other people's flights would be positive for them.

Not to brag or anything, but I broke this story 3 weeks ago, before even the media got a hold of it.

We should have a thread with all the carriers that are rumored to be joining SkyTeam. Let's see... Aeroflot, KLM, CO, NW, Thai, Royal Air Maroc, Air India. I am sure I've forgotten plenty, but that's a start...

Ditto

If carriers such as EK, SA, JL were to join; it'd certainly do wonders for the "quality image" of SkyTeam.

I for one would have an easier time dealing with that than say KE and CI combined.

IMO, resurrecting 6 month old threads is counter-productive. Just start a new one. Or even better, just accept that no news is, well, no news!

IMO, it's better to continue/update a previous discussion as opposed to starting a new topic only to have 1,001 whiners complain about checking the search feature first

If you do that you risk being censored, I mean, moderated.

Disagree! Why should someone have to slush through a couple of dozen 6 month old posts to get to your "anything new?" post?

Honestly, if there were anything new, don't you think someone would have reported it?

RoberS975,

I agree with you... but I'm sure one of our moderators doesn't. Thus, I think 777-232LR did the right thing.

IMO, I wish FT would follow the lead of other message boards and archive threads 60-90 days, instead of 6 months, since the last post.

SU has really cool fares through MOW sometimes
( like NYC-SVPO-BKK for $750)
Plus, their Asia network can be a nice addition to SKyteam ( as DL presense in Asia is an oxymoron)
P.S. and SU does not fly to Minsk ( B2 does), though offers nice through-fares

Delta - Aeroflot Partnership Creeps Closer

At the bottom of June 2nd news . . . http://www.atwonline.com/indexfull.cfm?newsid=3109

CSA Czech Airlines will start codesharing with Aeroflot in June on flights between Prague and Moscow. Aeroflot is regarded as a potential candidate for membership in SkyTeam, to which CSA belongs.
