Continental at Newark
I have just returned to Ireland from a two week holiday in chilly Florida (I never thought I would have to say that).
Returning home through Newark, myself and my wife were able to take advantage of an 'over-booked' situation, on the Shannon flight on two consecutive nights. I fully appreciate that this is not a process approved of by everybody, however It suited us extremely well. I just find myself wondering, if we were just fortunate to catch the end of the clearing up following the snow of the previous weekend, or whether this is a regular event on this route. Any comments from the experts out there would be appreciated. Regards to all Roger |

Presidents' Day weekend
I believe what you experienced was as a result of the Presidents' Day weekend holiday. This is a very busy travel week. Most public schools are closed this week, and certainly have Monday off. Many families travel this week. The issue from the snow was resolved a week ago.
