2 new tidbits (re: Skyteam and Vietnam)

I have been told by a source that Alitalia will be joining SKYTEAM effective FALL 2001 (so it would seem sooner than we thought). I have also been told to look forward to something happening in Southern Asia before mid 2002. My guess would be TG, although who can really say.

Also, this week, Delta was given authority to start codeshare service to VIETNAM along with 2 other US carriers (UA and NW). It is envisioned that they will codeshare with AF although I could envision KE to be an eventual codeshare partner (or even the possible carrier listed above).

Perhaps, we're going to get to go to Perth via JNB thanks to a new SAA / DL code-share. Actually the more I think about it, from the East Coast, that would'nt be too far out of the way. SAA now only serves SYD through a QF code-share agreement.
