We will probably be seeing a lot of these agreements in the next year or so before the universal eticketing deadline comes to pass.

The Skyteam join date for UX is set for September 2007. Odds are that KQ will join at the same time, but I can only confirm UX so far.

I saw this comment in the news article found HERE

"SkyTeam says China Southern will be ready to join as its 11th full member in November, while Spain's Air Europa, Panama's Copa and Kenya Airways are on track to join as associate members in September."

i've been flying DTW-AMS-NBO and on to EBB, ADD, KGL, etc this year and have had no problems getting DL miles. has this been the experience of others?

Well, it would help if you told us which airline you flew, what was codeshare etc. We can surmise that you flew NW metal from DTW to AMS, but was it a KLM codeshare?

You did not get DL miles flying on a KQ ticket as they are not yet in SkyTeam.

It seems that the AMS-NBO is either KQ or KL, both fly them. THe KQ flights are also KL coded.

THe flights between NBO and other African destinations are only KQ operated, not sure if there is a KL coded or other coded flights....

Interesting that he as DL got miles...

I just checked the KLM European website and KL indeed codeshares on Kenya flights to a variety of African destinations including those listed. So the only way he could have received DL FF mile credit, as I see it, was to have purchased a KLM ticket.

DL/NW/KQ and DL FF miles

i stand corrected. to the best of my recollection this has happened on NW tickets which are actually codeshared with KL, and the KQ flights hav been codeshared with KL. that's the best i can do.

Interesting...what does "associate membership" actually? Can I earn and burn miles on COPA, for example, starting September?
