Advice Needed
 

I need advice on what to ask Delta for in regards to a cancelled trip. They told me they couldn't get me out until the next day so I unfortunately had to cancel my much awaited trip to Cabo. I asked for a refund and they told me to go to Orbitz since that is who I booked the ticket through. I did that and found flights that they could have gotten me out on. I walked away from the ticket counter with nothing, not so much as a free inflight beverage ticket. I am obviously writing a letter to Delta (including the other flights they could have gotten me out on that I printed from the internet) but I was wondering if anyone had advice as to what to ask for from Delta. I feel I should get something. Any advice will help. Thanks
