SkyTeam booking sites?

Hey,

Does anyone have an idea where to find the lowest rate for ST roundtrips (multiple segments)? I've tried all the main travel sites, they will give me results that include segments from several airlines, not all of them ST. I'd also go with oneworld or StarAlliance, just wanted to stick to one alliance during this trip, since I think it might be less expensive. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'm going to post a similar thread with the StarAlliance and oneworld forums. Hope, nobody minds.

I do not think your premis(sp) correct.

In the second place, the fare code structure is so sophisticated(screwed up), even the single airline generating the fares do not have an adequate program to find their own fares.

Examples:

I flew IAD-ORD-FLL on UA frequently to see my mother. Orbitz fare was about $100 less than UA could find. They could not find that fare.

I just booked IAD-Italy-IAD. Orbitz shows a US fare in C for $2100. It is the lowest fare available. US cannot find it, although US tripadvisor says it is there. The transatlantic portions are all on UA metal. None of the second legs are on M&M partners. UA does not offer the fares.

AZ has IAD-Italy-IAD for $1950 in C on their website. Cannot force Orbitz to show that fare. I have these tickets.

KL has IAD-SVO-IAD in May for $2000 in C via AMS according to Orbitz. KL cannot find it, either on the website, or on the telephone, and wants to book me through Detroit, for only a little bit more money.

I like Orbitz best, as i think they have far and away the best search algorithim, but fly in C. For cheap fares, someone else may be best.

Do you have SkyTeam Timetable downloaded? It should help you determining the routing within one alliance, StarAlliance has the same software. What is your routing here anyway? Maybe I can help you figure it out. SkyTeam does have more limited routings than StarAlliance though depending on your routing but you can always work it out (one might cost a little more than the other).

Orbitz

Check out orbitz. When you go to the advanced search functions, you can put in either your preferred airlines, or your preferred alliance.

I had actually forgotten about that but this post reminded me.

kayak.com

Kayak.com lets you filter your search results by a number of criteria including airlines included in the search results. It is an awesome website - give it a shot. :)

The OP appears to be based in Germany, so orbitz is of limited use (kayak is helpful for comparisons but ita is more effective IMO if you are just looking for fares rather than booking them).
To answer the original question, there are no alliance-based pricing website and I'd agree with Slawecki that the premise is problematic anyway.

For German-based fare search engines, the LH forum might be a better place to ask.
