FF credit on code-shares

I recently flew from Krakow to Paris on an Air France ticket that was operated by LOT. Thinking "Skyteam" I gave my Delta number at checkin and they dutifully entered it on my boarding pass (which says AF1847 not LO)

It's been a few weeks, so I wrote to Delta and asked them. They said no credit for LOT flights because they aren't a Delta international partner.

Seems like a strange quirk of the alliance... I assume if I was in Frequence that I would get Air France credit.

Can anyone help me understand? Not that I'm questioning Delta's customer service, just questioning how the alliance works w/r/t codeshares on other airlines.

DL only gives credit on flights actually operated by AF as well.
So e.g. if you travel to the US on AF16 from CDG to EWR which is aperated by CO, you would not get miles either.
But it states that clearly on the DL website.

But you're right, Frequence Plus would have given you the miles...

Better luck next time!
