Hi guys

I'm trying to price this itinerary:

09/20 CPH-LBA (via AMS)
09/21 LBA-SLC (via AMS)
10/08 SLC-CPH (via AMS)

This route is operated by SkyTeam (KLM and Delta) but when I try to search for the above combo via Google Flights, and SkyTeam, I can only get it to return an absurd price.

Ideally it should give me these flights:
CPH-LBA (depart 06.00, arrive 09.50)
LBA-SLC (depart 06.20, arrive 12.46)
SLC-CPH (depart 14.46, arrive 11.05)

The only way I can make it return the expected result is if I leave out the CPH legs and search for a roundtrip between LBA and SLC. Then I get the expected flights and the expected price. Any idea why I can't add CPH to the equation, when there are legitimate SkyTeam flights available for the routing?

As a workaround, I suppose I could book LBA-SLC roundtrip via AMS, and then make a separate booking from AMS to CPH, and ditch the AMS-LBA leg, but I don't know if that will cause problems (aside from my not being able to check a bag at SLC).

Getting to LBA from CPH is not an issue and can also be done with a separate ticket if necessary.. and ideally I want to fly home from NYC instead of SLC but that's another story.

Btw, I tried price the itinerary via the Delta and KLM websites but they pretty much gave up and returned an error..

ITA Matrix prices this as four fare components for the first itin displayed. I used the carrier-force trick in Advanced Routing Codes.

Thank you for the reply. AMS-LBA and LBA-AMS is available in economy when I look for one-way fares, oddly.

Have you tried either of these options?

A) 2 tickets (1) CPH-SLC return with stopover in AMS and (2) AMS-LBA return.

B) 2 tickets (1) CPH-LBA return and (2) LBA-SLC return.

Airlines have used married segment availability for decades. Trying to construct a complex routing manually is not a good use of time.
