Lounge access question - HKG

Question from a *A flyer who has no clue about ST policies! :-) I'll be departing HKG on a China Airlines business class ticket. I don't have status on ST. I would like to know which lounge(s) I can access in HKG, and which one you ST experts would recommend? Or is the CI lounge the only one I can get into?

There is also a KE lounge at HKG which I think is only open for a few hours at a time when they have KE flights... a CI ticket in C will get you in. None of the ST lounges at HKG are all that special.

In late evening before KE's A380 flight they turn away most people, including some eligible to use the lounge that are passengers on that flight. The lounge is too small. Redirected KE passengers are sent to the premium plaza lounge by gate 4.

DL sends its business class passengers to the QF business class lounge at HKG.

IIRC as a business class passenger on an outbound SkyTeam flight, you should be able to use any SkyTeam lounge (none are IFC except in ICN and CDG AFAIK, so I won't state that exception here), assuming that airport security permits you to get to the lounge door and it is open. I think all airside at HKG is one big connected area, so you would have your choice of any open lounge that is operated by a SkyTeam carrier.

At check in, CI will probably give you a map to its own lounge.

HKG airside is two spaces - main terminal and satellite.

As noted above lounge access may be dependent on available space.

Thank you all kindly for clarifying the access rules for me.

I flew CI once in their pre-ST days, so I've actually been to their HKG lounge - nothing too special, as Santander said. I was hoping the other HKG ST lounges there might be a bit better!

I'm certainly looking forward to the fresh noodle bar in the CI lounge at TPE on our layover though :D ^
