Which are the airlines in the sky team to issue a plastic card immediately on joining their frequent flyer program ?

Why are you asking?

I have a drawer of cards I need to dump. I'm just curious why someone would want a card.

good idea but bit tedious

I also like to have a card in hand for being able to access premium checkin or lounge where I have status. For just beeing a basic member I don't see it necessary to carry a card with me.

I would guess that most, if not all, airlines only send you a plastic card after some minimum activity like earning 3k miles or doing a return flight.

In my experience with Korean Air, they do not send a plastic card until you reach Morning Calm status. However, your Skypass page will have a picture of your basic card which you can print, cut out, and carry with you if you like.
