Eastern Miles or Delta Skymiles?

Hi everyone.

I've been considering about whether to use Delta Skymiles for a long while..

I have a Eastern Miles with me now, with around 10k pts in it. However, I'm going to US for college for the next 4 years, and I think I'll fly DL & MU mostly in ST. Discounted Economy is usually my choice, I believe.

My problem is, is it worthy to get a DL FFP? or is there any better choice in my case?

Thanks.

It sounds loke you're not accumulating many miles quickly, meaning award tickets are few and far between. In that case, DL Skymikes will have the huge advantage of non-expiring miles. In Eastern miles it'll be use them or loose them.

I'm not sure how discount economy credits in both programs. On DL with Skymiles you'll have a good earnings rate, but on MU some cheap fares earn zero or heavily reduced rates. I didn't check but I doubt Eastern Miles carries any advantage there except perhaps earning something on their own lowest fare buckets.

Since EM doesn't usually provide any different treatment for it's elites over DL elites, you should pick the more valuable program. Believe it or not, that's Delta. There are some good values on Asia flights with MU awards, but nothing amazing.

Discounted economy is your choice then DL will be more value program. Here is additional information for Medallion Program for upcoming year, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...te-thread.html
Here is a link for earning MQMs on MU, http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...a-eastern.html
