Advice on LHR to ITM (Osaka)
 

Hi FT,

I'm trying to get from London to Osaka on SkyTeam.

Best option I'm seeing is a Korea Air flight: LHR to Seoul, Seoul to Osaka.

Any experience on that flight? What kind of config, service, etc?

There's a less convenient KLM option -- LHR to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Osaka. Any reason to take the longer layover to fly KLM instead of Korean Air?

My husband + I are both Delta Platinum and we want to be sure that we're getting max miles out of the trip. It's our first trip to Japan.

If you're traveling after 1 March 2013, you'll earn more MQMs on KLM (http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...-airlines.html) than on Korean (http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...orean-air.html)

Thanks so much for flagging that, Supersonic. 50% MQMs is enough to convince us to rethink our plan.

I thought ITM doesn't accept any international flight? :confused:

Unless you meant KIX, I think it's impossible to do ITM without non-ST carrier.

Btw, Kansai is really a fun area. People are outgoing and there are a lot places to visit. I personally like it a lot, hope you'll also enjoy it!
