Saudia Image?
Below is a "copy/paste" sentence from Saudia Public Relation internet page: -
"Our Mission Statement: To enhance the reputation of Saudia and improve its image within the Kingdom and abroad " Nice talk from this new member that so far, is not showing up on SkyTeam! The stated undertaking is hardly in line with reality because an automatic electronic response acknowledging receipt of my FIVE emails is all I keep getting during the last THREE months. My problem concerns Saudia E-ticket(s) issued in Riyadh on my retirement after 21 years service in Saudi Arabia. However, when I went to Saudia London Office to make the bookings there was no trace of these tickets on their computer system & there was no way of traveling anywhere. The tickets routes London-Riyadh (Economy Class; Return ticket); Riyadh-Kuala Lampur (Business Return) are still valid but only until December 2012. Can anyone suggest a way of getting any meaningful reply about my complaint from Saudia? Surely, they owe me an explanation about these "missing" tickets that will expire shortly- a convenient excuse for not re-issuing them. Incidentally, they do not have an alternative contact address to that of the Public Relation section..... |
Who booked the flights?
|
I booked the flights myself when the tickets were issued to me in Riyadh & before leaving Saudi Arabia for good. I was going to travel from London (my retirement base), but I did not travel on the specified dates. The E-tickets in hand are NOt invalid & would only expire in December (next month), as confirmed by the London Office of Saudia in July. However, like I mentioned before, the tickets' records "disappeared" & were no longer showing on line Saudia computers in London! As a result, they could do nothing & advised me to contact Saudia HQ in Jeddah for re-issuing my un-used tickets. I followed their advice & presented all the relevant documents supporting my case by email to their Public Relation at HQ but I received no explanation whatsoever (except for their automatic electronic acknowledgement messages) during the last 3 months of repeated emails from my side!!!

Welcome to FT.
Were you employed by Saudia or another organization/company? Could your former employer have cancelled the tickets? Could they have been cancelled if you did not change the booking in advance of the flight that you didn't take? You probably need to contact some customer service office, not public relations which usually means contacts with journalists and how the company is portrayed in the media. |
I was employed by another government organization. The tickets were issued out of my entitled travel allowance. They cannot be cancelled if booking is not changed- only on expiry. Their London Saudia office would have mentioned that reaon for cancellation but we all know it is not the case & anyway why wouldn't Saudia HQ simply reply giving me this reason, or any other one for the "disappearnce" of my tickets from their computers? It is this complete lack of any response that is frustration & can never be accepted from such a big airline that prides itself in customer care & has recently become a member of the Skyteam!!
The customer service office has the same email address as the public relations. No journalists to contact either..... |

Tickets usually become void, and are automatically cancelled, if the passenger is a no-show. |
