TAROM is an excellent airline. Worthy of skyteam. How else would Romanians rapidly fly throughout Europe?

Man, I've always wanted to go on an all-male getaway for the weekend to Mecca with my friends. This is great news.

Why am I excited about this?

-No female pilots. If you have to ask why that is a benefit, you shouldn't be flying Saudia Arabia Airlines.

-You can leave your luggage unattended while you go to the lavatory. If someone takes something, you get their hand upon landing--literally.

-Want to get away without the wife but can't think of an excuse? Just fly Saudia Arabia! No women allowed.

-Tired of ugly flight attendants? When all you can see is their eyes, you're only limited by your imagination.

Their extensive route network leaves me excited. Since there are absolutely NO tourist visas to Saudia Arabia, this should really open up travel for us who fly SkyTeam.

I am so glad I can finally earn miles on my Mogadishu, Somalia - Sanaa, Yemen - Riyadh routings.

For connections you need to choose ''multiple destination'' and add each flight seperately. They have some pretty decent fares from LHR to various destinations.

I thought Air Koryo has still banned flying into EU airspace? I wasn't sure about this one. Do they already lifts bans from blacklist and they will able allowed them to flying into EU airpace restrictions. Is still on the restrictions?

New SkyTeam Theme Music

To celebrate the expansion of SkyTeam with even more world-class, service-oriented members, including Saudi Arabia, SkyTeam has released a new Theme Song and Music Video

It will be interesting if some of the other airlines in the area (EY, EK, QR) also join alliances. Unfortunately, looks like SkyTeam didn't get the best one.

Redemption chart

Any sense as to how the redemption chart will look for DL miles on Saudi? And how soon one can use DL miles?

Given DL is an airline that doesn't publish charts for trips that start and end outside of North America on carriers that are already party of Skyteam, don't expect a whole lot on that front for a carrier that isn't even part of Skyteam.

DL will probably find another way to devalue the DL miles before that airline's integration with SkyTeam occurs, so speculating about the how the redemption chart will look in terms of using DL miles on this airline would be a hazardous guess at best given how DL currently calculates award ticket pricing.
