Lightbulb How many flight segments can skyteam itinerary contain at most?

Hello, could anyone tell please, how many segments can one skyteam
itinerary contain at most?

I mean, if we want to fly from AAQ to CDG, their search engine gives us 2 flight
segments:
1) AAQ -> SVO ( Aeroflot )
2) SVO -> CDG (AirFrance)

The question is, are there skyteam flights, that contain more than 2 flight
segments, let's say 3 ?

It seems that 2 is the max number, they do not fly from small local cities to small local cities of the two countries [ie, airlines].
They only fly from main hubs of one airline to the small cities of the other airline and vice versa, and such flights include only two segments.

So, is 2 the max number ?

I don't presume there is a SkyTeam rule, but rather a ticketing carrier rule. For Delta, the number is certainly greater than two. I have seen round-trip tickets with eight total segments. Round the World tickets can have sixteen.

Nope. Just did a search for a random GVA-DFW, and the Skyteam search engine will happily show me a 3-segment route. And AAQ-DFW gives me nice 3-segment options. Now on the other hand ... a 4-segment search seems more troublesome

Some booking engines can have trouble if your overall journey has more than 6 segments, but a travel agency would have no trouble booking a more complex journey, you may just end up with 2 e-ticket numbers.

Cheers,

Thumbs up

Thank you for your replies, especially for giving an example of 3-segment flight!

The maximum number of segments on any e-ticket is 16.

This is for most any airline.
