DL impact on Skyteam ?

There is a real probability of a major exodus from DL later this year when elite matches are good through Feb 2012. Many current DL flyers, former NW in particular, have grown increasingly frustrated with increasing IT problems, bad website, massive devaluation of skymiles, poor customer service, and that DL significantly raised fares in some markets (MSP in particular).

Any thoughts on the impact, if any, this will have on ST?

I always wondered the same, award availability is pathetic.

None.

SkyTeam is a marketing organization. Unless DL actually goes out of business they won't care about some elites not flying on DL anymore.

And I'm doubting that the exodus will be massive.

I also don't see a "real probability of a major exodus" from ST but if *A offered me a full status match, I would certainly consider it.

If it does happen, depending on the elite level you are talking about, I suppose the ones who stay with ST will be happy to see the ranks thin out.

CO would almost certainly match your DL platinum to their platinum level today if you wanted.

Thanks. My wife is CO Plat so we have talked about it. Actually, I will be DM by the end of the yr so what I really need to consider is whether UA's 1K will be at least as good as DL's DM.

There is a lot of hot chatter about DL's elite program but when I go to the UA boards, I see much the same thing. It really boils down to dom bennies and merger because I already feel the *A intl partners offer more options than ST.

I think everyone knows that the DL-NW merger didn't take the best that each had to offer. UA-CO might be different bec of CO mgmt assuming control but really, it is a wild card at the moment. Like I said, something to think about...
