Any Sixt discount codes?

I'm about to book a 2 days rental in CGN, Germany, for this week-end? Any code? It's 84 euros all in for an economy.

Thanks

Do you have a SIXT Platinum Card? How long are you in Germany for? Only for the two days is CGN?

I used this coupon and it saved me $250 EUR a week over the summer in ATH!
<http://www.destinationcoupons.com/Dollar/Locations.asp>
follow the sixt link thru there and book - it enters a coupon code for you!
Good Luck, Drive Safe,

Thanks. It gives me the same price I get if I go directly to the sixt website though.

Damn! It saved me a huge load over the summer. Are you sure you booked using the external site?

I have some Sixt discount codes, but I don't know how to check rates with them online!? Sixt likes you to have a personal contract number, but I have yet to see decent rates below the Platinum level. I have two gold cards from Sixt = two contract numbers, but rates are mediocre.

Booking through the Happydigits link gives 20 % off even on online rates:
http://www.e-sixt.de/cgi-perl/rental/or
You can get the Happydigits card for free if you have an address in Germany (+ maybe its neighbour countries)

Microsites are another way to book with Sixt online:
Lufthansa: www.e-sixt.de/lufthansa
German Wings: http://www7.germanwings.com/de/partner_mietwagen.html

I know it's too late now but 84 EUR for eco is very expencive. I rented PDMR last weekend as well and I had to pay 88 EUR using my Sixt Platinum Card which gives my 35% off.

Rate was 71,but with insurance and fees, premium location taxes and all it came up at 100 euros total.dunno why my card was charged for over $160 though. I'll give it another 2 days and then I'll call, it's a $30, give it or take it, rip off.

Anyway I wouldn't call it a good rate. Airport fee is not that expensive but it's the insurance that counts. So you should probably get yourself a CC that covers all insurances.

I wouldn't wait another 2 days but give Sixt a call or write an email. If you use email, don't expect an answer. They just correct everything (most opf the times pretty soon) but they almost never reply, at least this is my experience and I rent a lot with them.

I hope everything works fine for you.

Insurance was about EUR11,50/day. I have an AMEX but I wanted to use another card, my bad. I could have saved. Should I call the US number or the german number? thank you

Since January, Amex Platinum (at least those issued in Germany + UK, maybe other countries, too) gives insurance cover even when you don't use the card.

Some monoth ago other FTers reported about problems with the US number (don't know to which country they route this calls) as this agents weren't able to deal with the problems. The german call center located in Rostock is really great if it comes to any problems with your rentals. They are pretty knowledgeable, fast and they know what they are doing ^ So I'd call the german number.

As pointed out before you may want to write an email. Contact information can be found on the sixt homepage. As I mentioned you shouldn't expect an answer but you can be quite sure that they will fix your problem within some days.

Does anyone know if Amex Gold (issued in CH) carries insurance coverage? It would save me a lot.

Nope, at least not the german one... but there are several other CC's which include insurance e.g. german LH M&M CC Gold or german HH Visa and I am quite sure there are also some Swiss card offering this.
