Price matching?
Hey guys, Looking at a booking next month in Vegas and comparing between Hertz and Sizt. Id prefer to book Sixt, but while checking out prices between the two
5 Person SUV: Sixt Jeep: $461 Hertz Chevy Equinox $192 Does Sixt ever do any sorta price matching for stuff like this? |
I had this issue as well a while back at Heathrow. I'm a student and hence always look for the cheapest deal, however the rare times I find such a deal, its not for the dates I need the car for. I find SIXT to have a much more superior fleet and better service, however they refused to match a price which a week before the booking was the same price as the competition (Europcar) when I booked.
Come on Sixt, be a little more lenient in your pricing :( |

Going with atleast 4-5 people on this trip so need something actually big enough to hold us all. Sixt has better cars, better service, but if its 2x the cost like this....does not really work =/ |
Hi xolinlevh,
Thanks for your post. We are not able to price match, however if you could send me a private message with the details of the reservation you wish to make (location, vehicle category you would like, dates and times) and I will provide you with the best quote possible. Many thanks, Gary Caudwell.

I have a similar issue. The Sixt rate for Orlando is $410 and Avis is $267. I will PM SixtCustomerServices and see if there is anything they can do.

I think you have answered your own question. After years of getting crappy cars and service from Europcar in order to save a few euro's, I now prefer to hire from Sixt even if it is slightly more expensive, although within Europe they are normally pretty competitive.

Most annoying thing is that Sixt is the clearest in terms of pricing out of the rest. Especially doesn't help that I'm a young driver (22), but what can I do? I need a car to take my stuff to and from Uni every year. I also am willing to spend a little more for the service I get, however there is a massive price gap this year. Last year I paid around £40 however this year it's shot suddenly up to £51 and thats not including the young driver surcharge. I would be so happy if rental companies don't penalise young drivers who have hired multiple times safely.
