Sultan Hotel
Anyone stayed here before?
Wife found this so-called boutique hotel (located in Kampong Glam, close to Arab quarter nightlife, shopping on Haji Lane and two MRT lines) and wants to stay in a Sultan room on our next visit to SIN.............. we general stay at the Conrad so I'm a bit leary of staying at a hotel I know nothing about.....

Hi there!
Singapore is not particularly well known for its boutique hotels, even though there are quite a number of them. Common complaints include expensive but tiny rooms, service level not up to standard.
I would imagine a Conrad stay to be very different compared to this Sultan Hotel. Couldn't find much info about the hotel (the hotel is less than a year old?) except these below :

THXs for the info................ based upon other reports (especially the ones on lack of insulation - noisy), including yours, we opted for the newly refurbished Marriott, but we might take a look at the Sultan while in SIN as we fly in each year to shop for items not available in Thailand as well as to enjoy the black pepper crabs at Jumbos (the one under the bridge from the MRT at Clarke Quay) as we think they're better then the ones here......
