I go to SIN quite often and one of my favorite activities is to hire a bicycle at east park (next to the McDonalds) and ride out to the airport to watch airplanes take off. It is about 12-15km along a beautiful stretch of beach and when you get to the airport, you are less than 100 meters from the runway. Bring a picnic a towel to sit on and relax to the roaring sounds of 747's blasting off.
Stimpy - I love cycling... but in tropical heat? Maddogs and Englishman (I'm neither:p) comes to mind... Cheers! |

About 1-2km past the McDonalds, you will see a set of restaurants. The one called the Red House is where the local Chinese go for the best Chili Crab. Best I've had in Singapore. |

It's a good sweat! ;) Also, if you ride at a good clip you get a nice sea breeze to keep you cool. On the weekend you will see hundreds of others like you cycling, blading and jogging. And hundreds more picnicking, fishing, etc. It's the place to be on a weekend morning or afternoon.

We'll move this one off to the Asia - Singapore board for some further expertise :)
