Changi Lounge question

I transit through Changi arriving at midnight and leaving at around 6am. I arrive business class on UA and leave economy on a non-Star Alliance airline. I don't have status on Star Alliance at this point.

Question: Is there any lounge open at that hour that will let me in with an UA arrival business boarding card?

I realize that I could go to the transit hotel but it is usually hard to get a reservation there. Thanks for any info you may have.

I think the transit hotel is your best bet. The rooms are very clean. You acknowledge that is a pain to get a reservation. Better book early!

You "might" get lucky at the SKL in T2. It is NOT a *G lounge, but does accept UA C class BP's for entrance. The problem of course will be how they look at the "same-day" travel in C issue.
If they aren't too crowded (which I can't imagine!) - you could get a nice Matron who will concede that you're travelling same day on the inbound.

OTOH: you might not. :(

Good luck, Dave

I thought that SKL C Lounge is for SQ/LH C / F passengers. And usually for departing flights only, the lounge dragon is pretty strict.

There are no arrivals lounges in SIN, so your UA C boarding pass won't work.
Without PPS status, you can use the SKL F/C only if holding any *A F/C departing boarding pass.

Ok - I stand corrected. The only time I overnited in the SKL was when I 'did' have an onward UA C class BP which had been printed for me in NRT.

Best, Dave

It appears that the "departing" pax issue has been solved by Savage25, but the SKL is quite clearly available to departing *A pax in C/F - NOT just SQ/LH.

Thanks everyone for your very helpful replies. I am trying to book the transit hotel. If that does not work, I will look fo a quiet area to sit and read (and perhaps catch a nap if I can).

I stayed at the transit hotel twice last month, and it is quite good for an overnight rest. I am not aware that one can stay SKL overnight otherwise I would try it at one night.

Please try to make reservation early, but in case you do not have a reservation, you can generally get a room if you stay there for one or two hours since quite often there are no shows there.

Thanks for the advice.

I do have one other problem (and that applies both to overnight lounge use as well as the transit hotel), and that is that of the checked luggage. It is not possible to check my luggage through (to the flight that I am connecting to). Which means collecting the luggage unless I let it sit around in lost and found till the morning. But then I won't be able to check in for my onward flight till the morning and won't be able to get back in to be able to use the transit area or a lounge (even a paid one). I am not even sure if Changi has any areas to hangout if one is not on the airside. I am trying to see if I can eliminate checked luggage somehow but it may be difficult.

I'm pretty sure that just about everything is airside in SIN. I would try to get a boarding pass from the transit desk before you collect your luggage. That way, you can collect your bags and then still get back airside and store your bags at the left luggage counter if necessary.

Also, I think the SKL is not the only lounge open 24 hours. If you are willing to pay a little (pretty reasonable), you should be able to get into any of the "public" lounges.
