Chinese New Year
 
I have just realised that I shall be in SIN over New Year. Is the whole city going to close down, or will it be business as usual? Many thanks

Offices will be closed - it also starts on Sunday but many shops/entertainment outlets ,etc will be open. Most should open by Wed if not earlier. Enjoy your visit & soak in the ' festivities ' including CNY foods.

I hope you have hotel reservations at a reasonable rate.:)

I too was there this past weekend. From my observations it seemed that almost ALL of SIN was shut. I had difficulties in getting a taxi from my hotel to the airport on Monday morning at 5am. All the taxis (or the few that were operating) were busy taking folks home from the all-night Chinese New Year activities.
