Which hotel is the best offer / value for $$$$

from 17-19. July my family and me stay in SIN ( 2 rooms 2 nights 4 pax ).
I could book the following hotels incl. taxes/fees and ABF as follows
prices per room/per night all above incl.

Golden Landmark *** 60 Euro
New Park *** 50 Euro
Copthorne Kings *** 59 Euro
Copthorne Orchid *** 53 Euro
Grand Copthorne Waterfront ****+ 77 Euro
Rendezvous Hotel **** 68 Euro
Furama Riverfront **** 63 Euro
The Elisabeth ***+ 68 Euro

What you think is the best value ! Most important for us is

1.) good/quality ABF with western food as bread, cheese, fruits and eggs.
2.) clean room and bath, which needs not to be too large and luxury.
3.) A location which is near marina, river or Orchid up to 5-6km all no problem because taxi costs are not that high.

I know that many 5* offers are available like on priceline for the PanPacific at
111 USD/= 88 Euro per room per night. But there one has to add 16% Taxes/fees and around 20 Euro for ABF per person and then one ends up with 145 Euro which for me is not value the more in confort.
What you think is the best value ! or any other sugestion ?

P.S. We fly in with Silk Air in "C" and out on SQ in " F" ( but I checked already the SQ stop over rates are more expensive )

Copthorne Kings is probably your best bet out of those. Try to get one of the new rooms -- the older ones aren't bad either, but they're not quite as snazzy.

Of the hotels listed, the best located would be the Rendezvous Hotel. The rooms are pleasant as well, a bit on the small side, but with nice bathrooms and all well maintained when I was there. A decent selection from the breakfast buffet, both western and asian options available.

The New Park hotel is OK, but the location isn't great at the far end of Little India, not the top area to stay in Singapore. The Copthore Orchid is in the middle of nowhere and even with cheap taxis wouldn't be a great place to stay, unless you were looking to head across to Malaysia as there's a variety of buses that leave from the car park to points in Malaysia.

I'm personally not a fan of the river location where many of the hotels you've listed are (Kings, Waterfront, Riverfront) but if you like the area then the Grand Copthorne Waterfront is the nicest of the lot. Still can be a bit of a hassle getting around from that part of town, especially when it's raining.

At the Grand Copthorne, there is a water taxi/bus running to and from the CBD which is quite fun.

I wasnt too impressed with the "standard/superior" rooms there. Small rooms and even smaller bathroom (no bathtub). A bit worn and you probably find newer bedsheets in an orphanage. I wont stay there unless its one of the newly refurbished Jr Suites.

Location wise, the Elisabeth and the Rendezvous are probably the best because they are both within walking distance from Orchard Road. Rendezvous is at the end of Orchard Road, closer to Raffles City/Marina, while the Elisabeth is behind Paragon Shopping Centre which is at the heard of Orchard Road.

Concur with this description based on two stays, one last August and one earlier this month. I thought the breakfast buffet was outstanding. It meets all the OP's requirements, with at least two kinds of eggs (fried and scrambled) out for the taking and a chef able to prepare others on request.

If you're bringing a laptop, note that wired (Ethernet) and wireless (wi-fi) access are separate systems with different pricing schemes. I found the wi-fi cheaper but slow.

We have a similar issue, with different objectives.

We will be arriving on a Friday evening and leaving early afternoon the next day on our way to Sabah, Malaysia.

We would like to go to Zouk club (or maybe Centro) on the first night, and be close enough to Queen St terminal to take a bus to Johor Bahru on the day after. A pool would be a definite plus.

So far, the Rendezvous looks like a good choice, but I'm wondering about other options, possibly on the river.

Thanks,
Yann

Central S'pore is small enough and taxis are cheap enough (and honest) that I wouldn't base my hotel location on absolute proximity to the Jiak Kim Zone (Zouk) and the Queen Street terminal. Take a look at the on line S'pore map for the layout.

Any of the normal tourist sectors for hotels (Orchard, West end or East end; Marina; Arab Street/Bugis; River; Chinatown) all would be fine. I like to stay out in Geylang because it has more, uhh, character and good food, though you have to pick your hotel in this area a bit carefully (Hotel 81 is reliable) and make sure you're clear with the front desk that you actually have some intention of sleeping.

Centro is long gone. There's a big Ministry of Sound on Clarke Quay, but it's not doing all that well. Zouk's fresh out of a multimillion renovation and continues to pack in the crowds.
