Does anyone know if there are free showers available at Changi ? I'm a *Gold and will be transiting there nest week. Thanks.

There would have to be in at least one of the lounges you are entitled to access as a Star Gold member - the SQ lounge would have to.
I am Qantas Club, and I know the QF Club at SIN has showers, you would think that the home airline would also have them. Dave |

The lounge agent took great care to record my UA 1K data so that SQ would get reimbursed for my visit! At least she didn't hassle me about using their lounge on a UA ticket. Back to SIN: The airport has a transit "hotel" that gives you a small hotel room and shower for about US$35. |

The shower facilities are at the Transit Hotel and are a great buy. If you are not there long enough to require a room at the Transit Hotel (4-6 hours) I would only use the shower facilities and then wander around the rest of the beautiful airport.

Just to point out that there is ONE free shower booth in the Premier Lounge at Changi. Towels are free, but you have to ask. I think ONE shower booth is clearly insufficient, but the airport has cleared out the space next to the lounge, so perhaps a larger lounge is in store ...

Slightly off topic, but maybe relevant to the question:
- I've used the transit hotel showers in the past - at SIN$5 bucks, it's pretty good value if you don't have any lounge access - for *G, the SQ Premiere lounge, as indicated elsewhere on the thread, does have a single shower stall, which is located in one of the two toilets. Unless the lounge is totally empty, that makes me a little reluctant to use that facility - hate to think that I'm making it impossible for someone to use the toilet while I'm having a shower! - the Silver Kris lounge does have 5 shower stalls, in their own area (with an attendant). Fantastic. For the record, my first time in the SIN Silver Kris lounge was last week. I'm NZ *G, and was travelling on an NZ Y ticket on SQ metal, but had requested an upgrade on the upcoming sector to NZ. This was good enough for the lounge gatekeeper, who happily let me in. The lounge is indeed terrific. |
