I like Wee Nam kee.
Their roast chicken rice is very good.
Their main branch is an aircon restaurant near Novena MRT but it is a bit far from the airport.
There seems to be a branch nearer to the airport inside a foodcourt at Eunos mrt.

Chatterbox chicken rice is kind of upscale at Mandarin Orchard Hotel.
Close to MRT at the Orchard area.
Supposed to be good but probably a bit pricey.
Think they might only have white steamed chicken rice.

Then you can buy it from Maxwell and take MRT back to the airport.

Seriously - if you want good Hainan Chicken over Rice, you really need to go to Maxwell.

I didn't really like chatterbox that much. $27

Take the $30, spend it on grab to get to/from airport. $10 hawker center

There are perfectly acceptable chicken rice in the air conditioned hawker centres at the airport.

I'm also not a fan of chatterbox - overpriced for what it is

Sin Swee Kee Restaurant is near the Raffles Hotel, the price is reasonable but I can't guarantee the quality of the air conditioning.

Sin Swee Kee is good but might not be as air-conditioned as one liked. It is also near points of interest in Singapore.

Another good one missing from the list is Boon Tong Kee which I prefer. They have branches at Whampoa/Kallang, Balestier near Novena, and River Valley near Great World City. Their branch at River Valley is close to the Zion Food Centre.

BTK is a good one as it doesn't just serve chicken rice, which many of the other places do. They serve a wide variety of other dishes.

If you want airconed space, then go to indoor food courts, any Food Republic and/or any food court inside malls will do.
However I'm not that sure about quality. Last time (and really will be last time) I went at Plaza Singapora food court, I discovered bugs on my plate of steamed vegetables. Not saying that it won't happen at outdoor hawker center, but indoor food court does not guarantee anything.

I read about it when I was in Singapore last year. As soon as I searched up the price, I was like, that's insane! I think it was close to S$30 for a plate?

I have yet to have a good plate of chicken rice in an indoor food court. I'm open to suggestions though!

Make sure you go to the "Staff Canteen" in Terminal 1 accessed via the elevator behind the Emirates check-in counters. Although it is meant for airport staff, regular passengers can eat there as well (by paying a higher price for the food).
