Depends if you want to go to a 24/7 store that sells literally everything.
I personally love the place because it's just somewhere that's bizarrely random and defies logic. However I only go there if I can't find what I'm after locally.
If you're in the area I would pop in for a look just to see what it's like, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

For a few years my preferred hotel in Singapore was the Tai Hoe, which is a block or so from Mustafa. They had the moneychanging operation and all kinds of stuff, some placed haphazardly. I would often find something of interest, like a travel alarm or an umbrella I liked. Stuff like that.

If you're in the neighborhood, sure (bugis/sim Lim electronics etc)
There's also a donki nearby which sells a wide variety of Japanese food/supplies.
(the regular donki near Mustafa isn't 24/7 and doesn't sell household/jewelry etc - mega donki in Japan does and would be mustafa's equivalent of organised chaos. Regular donki in orchard is 24/7 but sells the same thing as regular donki near mustafa)

Drugstore & grocery stores are my favorite places for souvenirs when traveling - we enjoyed Mustafa Center. But we were also in town for a long time (6 days) so we wanted to spend time wandering the neighborhood and eating as well. If I'd had two days in town, it wouldn't have made the top 10 list.....

My first SG visit sometime during the last millennium, the tour guide said at the dropoff for Mustafa: "if you can't find it here, you don't need it"

I would guess it depends. Personally I didn't find it that great. Sure, there are some good bargains, but it just felt like a bargain department store. Personally, I would prefer to spend the additional time at the Jewel if this is to kill time before a flight.

I would go to change certain currencies not typically possible at a standard issue exchange house, grab a bizarre drink from upstairs, then eat a dosa nearby.

If you like Indian food, peruse the spice aisle in the grocery section. There is a wide assortment of spice blends to make specific dishes. Very good quality, and cost practically nothing. A great gift for a friend who likes to cook
