What is hyped as a major event, the Singapore Airshow will be in town from 11-16 of February.

Will such a large event cause any disruption for the common tourist visiting Singapore during this time?

There are some disruptions, but nothing that leads to severe delays in my experience.

Unless you want to go there. Otherwise - no.
About airshow itself - was only once, 8 years ago and it does not worth the effort - 3h waiting in line in each direction to get in and out, not including time to get there and out from there.
