New, white colored automated gates at Changi

Noticed two, white colored automated gates at T1 when leaving this weekend. Anybody know are they new version of the existing gates or something with different function/purpose?

Probably similar to the Australian ones which allows any nationality with a biometric passport to clear immigration.
Scans passport and then face scans.
