Dress code at Iggy's?

I've got a reservation next week but was wondering what was "acceptable"?

I'll be wearing nice jeans, nice shoes (Ecco semi-formal), and golf shirt. Maybe I'll even tuck it in. ;)

I am going there for lunch next week and plan to wear short sleeve shirt and jeans (I think they're nice jeans too). ;)

Should be OK, right?

Could you let us know how it is? I noticed they've just placed #29 in the whole "top 50 restaurants" of the world thing. :D

Exactly the reason why I booked them. ^

Food was very good, if not exactly memorable. A 4 course lunch (2 appetizers, 1 main course and a dessert) costs SIN$65.00++

The pan seared foie gras and the duck leg confit were the highlights for us. The ambience and the red snapper were the lows.

I doubt the restaurant cares whether one shows up in torn jeans with T-shirt. The place does not exude sophistication or formality, but at least they provided a satisfying lunch experience.

Hmm... were sitting across the table from me yesterday? ;)

Actually, I found the food superb. It really depends on what you order.

It starts with a duo of tomato amuse bouche. Going from right to left, it starts with a savoury tomato and ends with one of those colourless tomato reduction drinks. Forgot the name but an interesting amuse bouche.

The salad had a good helping of truffles, the foie gras was the good "foie". My wife also had the tomato appetizer which was excellent.

I had the Blackmore wagyu beef striploin (extra charge) and my wife the capellini. The wagyu was well worth the supplement and my wife's capellini was "strong" but very good.

The letdowns were the dessert, imo.

Overall, I found it was well worth going. ^

As for dress code, I did email in advance and they "strongly preferred" showing up in pants. Jeans were ok.

Thanks for the report! I'm thinking of heading over for dinner ... let's see what the missus says! :D
