I have a F RTW for August and it still shows the 747.

And the itinerary was super quick to change the 77W from SIN-DXB-DME
to 777-200, even before it was publicly announced. Of course that was a huge downer......

Just got off SQ 602 from SIN-ICN... I heard the EXACT same thing.. It seems SQ 11 will be switched as soon as possible.. Also I doubt that SQ602 will remain too much longer with a first class option.. I was the only person in first class...

You are correct on F availability. I have F award for SQ602 in June and it has changed to business. SQ has changed the flight to 2 class only.

There are still good I class availabilities for LAX-NRT-LAX. Grab them and see if this rumor is true and turn them into 77W C seats. I checked many random dates in April/May.

Thanks for corroborating the switch.

The purser seemed absolutely certain that this was the last time either of us would be flying SQ11 on a 744.

Is it me or do I still see a lot of O/I availability on SQ 11/12 (Oct/Nov/Dec 2009)

Still thinking if it's worth waiting an extra week just so I have enough miles for a F award instead of a C award right now.

F is worth the wait.

Well, let's just say this route will change to 77W. With a lot of routes being switched to 77W (including the last LHR 744 flight), isn't it about time SQ makes these 77W (perhaps not A380, since they are still an unique aircraft in the industry) flights available for redemption to partners (and its own members for regular mileage level)?

With SQ losing customers, profit falling, they need to be a bit more flexible about these things in my opinion and be less proud of themselves.

Interesting news. I am currently holding a C award on NH from NRT-SIN (in Nov). I think it might be a good idea now for me to change to SQ11. It arrives in SIN 1:20 after NH901 but I think the difference between NH regional C and SQ new C is worth the later arrival. I made the call when I originally booked that the difference between the spacebed and NH C was not worth the later arrival. In fact I actually made the call that NH C would be better as I could take the middle seat and have nobody next to me (which within reason is more important to me than legroom if flying alone). The big question - is this rumour on Galley FM true?

Judging by the dismal load factors on SQ11 over the past six months, I'd venture to guess SQ is champing at the bit to downgauge ASAP.

Hmm

I am wanting to book for Feb 2010 next week, so I can snap up a seat the minute it opens in F.

If it was a 744 I would have been thrilled - never flown F on a 744!!! Awwww....

If it changes to a 77W, am I better off changing to the new J class ? If so and I have been ticketed - is there the option to change to J class from F? And how many points would it be? Route: BNE/SIN/LAX (J to SIN and F to LAX)

Thanks in advance

It's 140,000 points through AC Aeroplan for a F or mixed R/T ticket from Oz to N.A.

You can transfer from Amex or better yet, SPG, which with a 25% bonus requires only 115,000.

Thanks for that - but what about in KF program? Anyone know how much it would cost (is it possible?)
