SIN-KUL mileage run in F - why so good?

Hi all

I read on another site of someone doing SIN to KUL on SQ as a mileage run in First Class- however I looked on the site and the miles are relaly low.

DO you get a load of status points or something? If so, how many?

Also, I noticed trying to book this after July it seems not to be available- only J class. whereas now, F is available for April. Are SQ discontinuing F class on this route?

Thanks in advance

Your last question, Yes, Singapore Airlines is to discontinue the selling of First Class on the SINKUL vv route.

When PPS was based on Sectors instead of Dollars spent it used to be a good 'Status Run'

Prior to PPS Value based, SIN-KUL-SIN would not earn any PPS sectors at all. The shortest distance was for SIN-CGK-SIN.
AFAIK, SIN-KUL-SIN in F is good for VS GOLD run.
Cheers!

The SIN-KUL run has been the cheapest way and quickest way to gain Virgin Flying Club Gold which requires 40 Tier points. Each flight on F under 2000 miles earns 5 tier points, so its just 4 round trips to get top tier with an airline.

Ok Wow Maybe this is why they were doing it for VS.

So how long does VS Gold status last or doesn't it expire?

And does it give you any privileges on other partner airlines such as SQ?

thanks in advance

VS Gold needs to be renewed each year, 30 tier points are required (6 x SIN-KUL F sectors). VS Gold affords some privileges like priority baggage, business check in and lounge access when flying SQ Y, see here.

as mentioned previously, SQ and MH will not sell F on that route anymore.
The change is from March31st to April1st.

IMHO it's much more honest now because the seats were just C-seats.

Unfortunately it also means no more F-Lounge access and only 1000 Miles on LH.
