What to expect in F on SQ973? Krug???
Debating C vs. F class for this 2h25min flt from BKK-SIN.
There isn't much of a price delta - can anyone tell me what food/beverage service on a flight of this length?
As far as I'm concerned, Krug/Dom alone makes it worth the price difference. I've only flown F on long haul and flights ~4hrs, is it still offered on these short flights?
Speaking of which, I have a 4hr+ flt from SIN-MLE where no F is offered.
What is the champagne in C?
Tks

F will have Dom & Krug. C usually has a Heidsieck Brut or something IIRC.

If the price difference isn't huge I would go for it. The food is slightly better too, but nothing to write home about.

As others have posted, there is a full complement of alcoholic beverages. The meal service is abbreviated--appetiser, main, dessert (or fruits)--as would be expected for a short flight. Incidentally, the flight time is often 2 hours or less.

If your schedule is flexible, I'd give LX F a try (provide full amenity kit and meal service, I think).
I miss those days when SQ was operating 744s to BKK.

Couple of reasons why I will stick to SQ:
1. Krug (I don't think any other airline has)
2. I only collect *A (arguably moot on this short trip) miles
3. I am connecting to another SQ flt, so it's easier to stay with SQ.
Thanks for that tip - I wouldn't have even thought of checking LX.

You can still collect *A miles with LX . Also, depending on your connection time, an LX to SQ connection probably wouldn't be a huge issue. The only real issues are the terminal transfer (minor) and the flight timing (leaves BKK at 16xx hours, arrives SIN at 19xx hours).

May I plug my trip report: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=798484
The second posting includes a BKK-SIN-BKK report which compares the F services in SQ and LX. Of the two on this route, my firm preference would be for LX - although they don't have Krug...

No Krug in F
So much for bothering to shell out the extra $ for F...
No Krug - crew said it is being eliminated in F on short flights, after I pumped up for Mrs. Ckccan's first SQ trip...

You do have the option to "Book the Cook" out of SIN.

That makes the LX service look even better - better food, better seats, chocolates, excellent service and some genuinely interesting Swiss wines.

If indeed it is being withdrawn, it is very sad news.
