Name change fun
 

So my KF number has my name backwards even though it asked me to fix it during sign up and I swear I did...

I just made a booking and the name is backwards. I called up res and they put a note in about it and said it would be fine, I would be allowed to check in. They were insistent that points would credit, etc. but I'm very skeptical.

Now, I am crediting to AC and very worried about the points posting in time to Qualify for SE status (based on post date). Can someone confirm that at the airport they can actually CHANGE the name, and won't just check me in for the flight with the wrong name?

Could I just push them to reissue it properly? The issue is availability is 0 on the flight so I wonder if I will lose the seats if they do this?

Lot's of Asians typically write their family name first so getting "first" and "last" names turned around is very common. If that's what you mean then don't worry about it. I've had every conceivable combination of my name on tickets in the past and they always let me check in without giving it a second look and I always get my miles posted.

Cool. Hopefully the people at Air Canada's IT department were smart enough to let the name go through in either order ;)
